Leni is so excited to be joining the team at Watermark Theatre this summer. She hails from New Brunswick, and is a Montreal based actor, with a career spanning 40 years. Some of her most notable roles in theatre include her recent run of Kisses Deep at Centaur theatre, Thy Woman’s Weeds at Centaur Theatre (recipient of the METAs awards for Outstanding Production and Outstanding Ensemble); the production of ROME, where she played Volumnia in Coriolanus, USINE C/NAC.

Others notable works: her one woman show, The Blonde, The Brunette, and The Vengeful Redhead, which played at Hudson Village Theatre and Theatre Lac Brome (nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor,2022 METAs); Agnes in Marion Bridge, Hudson Village Theatre; her role as Patti Smith in Parceque La Nuit, Espace GO/NAC; Julius Caesar in Julius Caesar, Repercussion Theatre; Amanda in Private Lives, TNB; Elizabeth in Elizabeth Rex, Segal
Center; Joyce in Top Girls, Segal Center, (for which she was awarded a META for Outstanding Performance by an actor, 2014); Corps Titan at Theatre d’Aujourd’hui, NAC, 2022/2023; Jackie Kennedy in Jackie, NTS director’s final show; Luciana in Comedy of Errors, Centaur Theatre/NAC; Virginia in Age of Arousal, Centaur Theatre; Sarah in On This Day at Centaur Theatre; The Baroness in The Baroness and The Pig, Imago Theatre; The Nanny in La Fete Des Morts, Theatre Momentum; and Isadora in Isadora: Fabulist, Imago Theatre.

Leni was part of Pigeons International Theatre for 10 years from 1987-1997, where she toured  extensively in Europe and Canada with the company. Over the years, Leni has been awarded and nominated several times for Montreal theatre awards, The Montreal Critic’s Awards, The METAs, Les Masques, and The French Critic’s Awards. In film and TV, Leni stars in The Slack for Bell Fibe TV, shot in New Brunswick; Transformers 7 in 2023; in Street Legal, 2019, seen on CBC Canada. She also played Mother Sabrine in Barkskins, on Nat Geo; and Pam in My Salinger Year, both released in 2020. For four years, she played Da’an in Earth;Final Conflict.

Leni has also voiced many characters in various video games over the years. Leni taught for two years (2023/2024) at the National Theatre of Canada in the second year acting program. Currently, she facilitates a scene study course for La Porte Rouge, an 8 week course in realism, using HB Studios practices, and Carol Rosenfeld’s Acting and Living In Discovery.
